Yahoo Site Explorer is no more, it’s gone, no more, so long!
You served us well, free access to backlinks on our sites, and on our competitor sites (didn’t they love that) to specific URLs or whole domains.
Yahoo site explorer has now been integrated into Bing Webmaster tools, but really the functionality is just to the sites that you manage in Bing not to any competitors so basically you get nada. Thats a crying shame as that was the only left that was anygood with Yahoo – well there’s always the TV guide.
So if you want to carry on with Bing, sign up, get an account, verify ownership of your website and eventually your link data is available in the tools under the Index menu > Inbound Links – scroll down, click on the Target page to see your incoming URls links with the anchor text, exportable as a CSV file.
Yahoo and Bing have been transitioning for a while now with the end game of Bing feeding search results to Yahoo searchers, leaving 2 players in the search room, one being a big grey elephant in the corner, well a big grey elephant if you work at Bing.
